They are thick bands that hold tight, and they come in a variety of neutral shades most of which will blend in nicely with most hair colors. I love that this pack contained so many ties, but the initial smell of the product was a little offputting. The product seem to be offgassing a little bit, it smells like tires/burning rubber. I definitely did not want to be in the vicinity of these, and I especially didn&rsquo;t want to put them in my hair, so I let them air out for a few days. After those few days I attempted to use them and while most of the smell is gone, it is still there slightly. I decided to use a couple of the hair ties anyway to see how they would hold my hair. I have thick hair and it is long, almost to my bottom. I decided to use it on my hair when I made a couple of braids and then I tried it by gathering my lose hair and wrapping it around to hold my &ldquo;bun.&rdquo; Both times I was able to remove the ties fairly easy, I didn&rsquo;t have a lot of hair wrapped around them as I have had with similar products. They do hold hair well and don't slip, which is nice. But I didn't like that there's a thick layer of glue where the ends are stuck together on each tie.
