I have thick, 3C/4A curls, and detangling used to be the most dreaded part of wash day. This brush has really helped make the process easier. The flexible design glides through my hair with minimal snagging, and the wide-set bristles reduce breakage significantly. What I love most is that it doesn&rsquo;t tug or pull like some other detangling brushes I&rsquo;ve tried, and it works well on both wet and damp hair. She said, it&rsquo;s not a brush but more like a comb. She said it&rsquo;s too stiff and the grip is too firm in her hand. I used it and have pretty thick hair. It says &ldquo;flex&rdquo; in the name but is very stiff. I don&rsquo;t like how the handle is a little concave at the back as it makes it very awkward to hold. This is better for thin to medium-thick hair. It&rsquo;s also hard to pull out detached hair from between the bed of the brush. Bottom line, makes a good comb but not a good brush. I do love the color it came in. My hair is very fine and curly and gets damaged easily by brushing with combs or stiff bristles, so this design didn't work as well for me as it may for others. If the bristles were more flexible in addition to the layers moving, I feel that the brush would be less damaging for my hair. When styling I first wet my hair and add product to detangle and this brush was not able to get through the tangles in my curls at first try. I had to use my other larger Conair brush first. This brush works almost like a comb in my hair and combs can never really get my tangles out so I only use combs to part my hair. I think this brush is ok for a quick styling brush after my hair has already had most of the tangles brushed out or the tangles are not that bad. But this brush is not able to replace my other big brush. I took a chance and used this on mine and my daughter's hair after a shower and I was very surprised at how well it glided through our hair without pulling, I do feel this works better on wet hair but it did well on my dry hair as well, there was alot less pull than using a regular brush! I would recommend this to others! I have type 3b curly hair that I brush straight right out of the shower before scrunching and styling it with mouse. My hair had been up in a messy bun without being washed for nearly 2 weeks and it was a mess. I decided to use this brush in the shower to help untangle my hair after washing it and applying conditioner, and it worked great. At first I thought I broke it with my thick, matted hair but then I realized that the bristles are organized in lines that don't stick together at the end (top), so this allows for more flexibility when you're brushing your hair and less hair breakage/damage. I tried it with wet, conditioned hair as well as with dry hair pre-shower. I much prefer my wet brush to this because it does actually detangle. While wet, this brush does help to separate and clump curls, but if it hits a snag in my hair, it pulls.
